Previously that week, the Cuban government warmly welcomed and officially received a different ship that had carried 14 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the country.
That ship, called "a modern Granma" following the name of the vessel in which Fidel Castro came back to Cuba to begin the Cuban Revolution in the 1950s, brought solar panels, pharmaceuticals, baby formula, cycles and food.
