British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health follows the sports world offered condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
