FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch on 7 November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
